Artistic Gerri

Art has been on the fringes of my life for as long as I can remember.  Finally, having left the traditional workaday world and moved to a place where art, and those who create it, are celebrated, I get to explore more mediums and test my skills in ways I never thought possible.  Please join me on my journey.

At present, only my watercolors are available for sale.  Watercolors may be offered in original, high-quality giclee prints and/or notecards. Artworks may be purchased by emailing me direct.  All that I am as a watercolorist is due to the teaching and inspiration of Monica Perin in La Garde, France, at www.monicawatercolors.com.

My fresco work was an amazing experience at Casa San Martino, Lisciano Niccone, Italy, under the guidance of Monica Perin and the incredibly talented Annie Taillemite of Mery sur Cher, France, at www.annie-taillemite.com.

My clay sculptures have been created under instruction by marvelously talented people like Rita Marlier of Norfolk, Virginia; Monika Werle of Otterbach, Germany, at www.mw-kreativeleben.de; Jayn Avery of Floyd, Virginia, at www.blueheronpottery.com; and Steve Mitchell of Bent Mountain, Virginia, at www.blueridgepotters.com.

The printing pieces were under the guidance of Kate Anderson of Appalachian Artist Press at the Jacksonville Center for the Arts, www.jacksonvillecenter.org

The fiber pieces were mostly done on my own after many years of sewing experience.  The baskets were all made in workshops with Teresa Comeaux, formerly in Kaiserslautern, Germany, and now in sunny Florida.  An awesome basket maker!
